Segments let you group subscribers so you can send targeted notifications to a specific audience instead of sending to everyone.

Go to PushPilot → Audience and click the Segments tab.

Pre-built Segments #

At the top of the page you will see four ready-made segment types you can create instantly.

SegmentDescription
New UsersSubscribers within their first 24 hours
Inactive UsersSubscribers with no session in the last 7 days
Location BasedTarget subscribers by country or region
Timezone BasedTarget subscribers by their local time

Click Create on any card to set it up.

Your Segments #

Below the pre-built cards you will see a table of all your existing segments showing the name, description, number of subscribers and when it was last updated.

From the Actions column you can:

  • View — See the segment details
  • Edit — Modify the segment filters
  • Delete — Remove the segment

Creating a Custom Segment #

Click the Create button at the top right of the page to build a segment from scratch.

Step 1 — Segment Info

Enter a Segment Name (required) and an optional Description to help you identify it later.

Step 2 — Set Filters

Apply one or more filters to define which subscribers belong to this segment.

FilterWhat it Does
CountryInclude or exclude subscribers from specific countries
LanguageFilter by browser language
OS PlatformFilter by device type such as Android or Windows
TimezoneFilter by subscriber timezone
Last SessionFilter by how recently the subscriber was active

You can choose Match All (AND) to require all filters to match, or Match Any (OR) to include subscribers who match at least one filter.

Step 3 — Check Audience Preview

The Audience Preview at the bottom updates live as you add filters. It shows:

  • Coverage — Percentage of your total subscribers included
  • Estimated — Estimated number of subscribers in this segment
  • Total — Total active subscribers

Click Refresh to update the preview after making changes.

Step 4 — Create Segment

Click Create Segment to save. Your new segment will appear in the segments table and will be available to select when creating campaigns.
